Friday at 22. WATCH DOCS, December 9 

We're about to begin the second and last WATCH DOCS weekend. We hope you're feeling ready, as we have prepared a unique film program for you, and equally exciting discussions!

- 6 pm What kind of activism does the forest need? Discussion after the screening of the film “Delikado "

Do activists lack systemic tools to protect the environment? If the systemic instruments are insufficient, can the defenders of our common future look for them outside the system? 

The panel will be moderated by Urszula Jabłońska, journalist and reporter, winner of the Grand Press Award 2012 in the "Press reportage" category. 

• Marta Jagusztyn, researcher and co-founder of the Forests and Citizens Initiative, which documents, studies and supports civic groups engaged in forest affairs. 

• Jadwiga Klata, a representative of the young generation of climate activists, member of the Climate Solidarity Movement 

• Krzysztof Wychowałek, co-founder and long-time activist of the Sources Centre for Environmental Activism

• 6 pm second and last screening of "All That Breathes” followed by a Q&A session with the 2nd director

New Delhi is a city suffocating from the smog that kills people and animals. Even the birds, which increasingly often fall from the sky, lack oxygen here. Fortunately, there are people ready to help them. Saud and Nadeem devote themselves to saving the black kites, great birds of prey necessary for the functioning of the urban ecosystem.

• 8 pm last screening of "The March on Rome" by Mark Cousins, who, in another instalment of the very personal history of cinema, exposes the patterns of fascist propaganda from a century ago and shows how many continue to be used by various kinds of populists. This time, the British artist takes a film showing the triumphant march of black shirts through Italy and Mussolini's entry into Rome. As always, Cousins masterfully juxtaposes archival fragments, providing them with critical commentary and references to the history of cinema. 

What's the plan for Saturday?

On December 10, we observe International Human Rights Day. On this day we will have our closing night during which the first Henryk Wujec Civic Award will be presented.
