Citizens who take to the streets in protest remind those in power that they remain bound by international law. Yet the broad social effort to halt the genocide in Gaza has run into a barrier of corporate interests, diplomatic arrangements and political dependencies. Does society have the means to respond and demand ethical decisions from its leaders when such decisions appear to conflict with state interests or the agendas of major corporations?
