A significant swath of Polish society believes refugees from Ukraine enjoy privileges unavailable to Polish citizens. Yet facts such as reports, economic data, and employment statistics, fail to hold back the tide of false narratives that successfully stoke resentment and a sense of threat. Russian disinformation has further eroded the solidarity once widely extended to Ukrainians, replacing it with hostility and aggression. How did we become so easily persuaded that they pose a threat to Poland? And is there still time to reverse this shift?
