When emotions run high and violence hangs in the air, a special unit of Swedish police negotiators works to defuse tension during street protests and, when aggression erupts, to minimize harm. But when it becomes impossible to tell who is right, the situation can spiral out of control in an instant.

When emotions boil over and violence hangs in the air, a special unit of Swedish police negotiators steps in to defuse tension during street demonstrations and protests, and, when aggression erupts, to minimize the damage. They blend easily into the crowd, their real strength revealed only when it’s time to calm a furious protester demanding his rights, without ever resorting to force. Increasingly, the line between right and wrong blurs. In a democracy, climate activists from the “Last Generation” movement are as entitled to their beliefs as religious zealots are to theirs. The negotiator’s task is to find common ground where none seems to exist. Things don’t always go according to plan, but this film reminds us that in today’s polarized world, there are still those capable of genuine dialogue.
