Rebellion and emotions: a raw, though insightful and honest look at the process of growing up in multicultural Norway.
Margreth Olin trains her lens on a group of high-school seniors during their final months before graduation. In the spirit of Dogma, without staging, adornment, or interference, she crafts an unfiltered portrait of youth brimming with energy, frustration, and a deep sense of powerlessness in the face of the adult world. Olin captures everyday moments: conversations about identity, first love, and conflicts we imbue with far more weight than they deserve; flashes of bravado; emotional collisions that expose class and cultural divides within a seemingly uniform group. “Raw Youth” offers a piercing, honest look at coming of age in multicultural Norway. By giving space to voices rarely heard, their hopes as well as their fears, Olin creates the film with her protagonists, rooted in attentiveness, empathy, and trust.
