Together with the Kino Dostępne Foundation, we invite you to an extraordinary screening of the French short documentary “If You Don't Like It, Look Away”. Extraordinary because… it is without images.
Imagine that you are sitting in a movie theatre. The commercials end, the lights go out, and silence falls over the audience. The first sounds of the film flow from the speakers—but the screen remains black. Usually, this is the moment when one of the viewers raises a hand, looks for the operator, and reports a technical problem. After all, cinema is something you are “supposed” to see.
This time, we encourage you to shift your usual perspective and try to experience a film screening in a way familiar to blind and partially sighted people.
WATCH DOCS, together with the Kino Dostępne Foundation, invites you to an extraordinary screening of the French short documentary “If You Don't Like It Look Away”, during which the image will be replaced by audio description—a narration describing the actions of the characters, the space, and body language, created so that blind and partially sighted people can fully participate in the screening: follow the plot and feel the tension of each scene. It constitutes an independent, carefully crafted layer of the film.
Although the event was created with sighted audiences in mind—those who want to see what cinema becomes when we reverse the traditional hierarchy of the senses—blind and partially sighted people are also warmly invited. The screening is adapted to their needs, and audio description serves here as the primary, equal layer of the film. We are glad to create a space for a shared cinema experience, regardless of how it is perceived.
About the film:
If You Don't Like It, Look Away (original title: Au bain des dames), 30’, 2025, France
Pensioners on the beach: bittersweet adventures of women who can finally feel free from social expectations.
Joselie meets her friends on the beach every day. All are retired, meaning they can sunbathe topless, sip wine, and flirt with local hunks. In this witty and disarmingly unpretentious documentary, the French director captures the bittersweet escapades of women who have finally slipped free of family expectations and social demands.

[Audio description: A still from the film “If You Don't Like It, Look Away”. Two older women stand facing a cracked wall. On the wall, there is a large French inscription: “Put your bras on, you old hags”. The woman on the left has short grey hair and is wearing a colourful dress; on the right stands a topless woman with red hair. In a gesture of defiance, she raises her middle fingers.]
Please note that the new Kino Dostępne 2.0 app does not require an internet connection in the cinema, only that you download the audio description track to your phone before the screening.
Available only for screenings at KINOMUZEUM.
