Who will bring Putin to justice? Discussion after the screening of the film “War Crimes, with Investigators in Ukraine"

Who will bring Putin to justice? Discussion after the screening of the film “War Crimes, with Investigators in Ukraine"

The perpetrators of war crimes in Hitler-occupied Europe, the former Yugoslavia or Rwanda were tried by international criminal tribunals. Russian soldiers are currently committing similar acts in Ukraine. Soon they may be held accountable.

Can convictions be handed down in their cases, similar to those from the recently completed trial of the perpetrators of the downing of the Malaysian flight MH17 over Ukraine? What are the real effects of such trials?

Future trials before international tribunals will be possible thanks to the documentation of Russian crimes, which began right after February 24, 2022. What is and what role does OSINT play in all this – obtaining information from open sources? Will the Kremlin authorities who decided to start the war also be punished?
