In the shadow of war, the fate of nature is rarely discussed. Nature also suffers long-term, irreversible losses caused by armed conflicts. Destroyed ecosystems, contaminated soil and water, and burned forests—these are consequences that don't end with the cessation of military operations. Although attention is primarily focused on human suffering, environmental degradation remains an equally significant problem, affecting the future of entire regions and future generations. We will discuss the impact of armed conflict on nature during the panel discussion "Ecocide: When Earth Becomes a Battlefield."
