Being Mikołaj
How do you learn to love when not everything is understood? One of the most moving Polish films about the search for love and a sense of belonging.
Mikołaj is on the verge of adulthood. Before he leaves his family home, he wants to repair the relationship with his father, who raised him alone but struggles to accept his identity. The camera quietly enters the space of their everyday conversations, where intense emotions clash with silence, and the longing for closeness meets a lack of understanding. Watching these moments unfold, one senses that the path to reconciliation is still full of twists and turns. And another challenge lies ahead for Mikołaj – facing a Kafkaesque court system. Will they manage to find a common language and grow into a new reality together before then?
