Marcin Ogdowski

A sociologist by training, writer, journalist, and war correspondent, he is also known as the "first Polish war blogger." He has worked in Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Lebanon, Georgia, Uganda, and Kenya, among other places. He has been active in the media since 2000, and currently works for the editorial team of "Polska Zbrojna" (Armed Poland), a TVP.Info portal, and is also the author of the blog bezkamuflazu.pl.

He has written seven books and co-published four more. These included reportages, photo essays, and novels—the latter set in the political/war fiction genre (the novel "(Dez)Informacja" (Dez)Informacja), which explores Russia's hybrid war against Poland, was published in 2018). He is the recipient of awards such as the "Diamond of Journalism" (2024) from Patronite, the Buzdygan (2013), known as the "military Oscar," and the Zielona Pear (2011). He was also awarded the Bronze (2008) and Silver (2010) Medal of Merit for National Defence and the Badge of Honour of the 6th Airborne Brigade (2013).
