MEETING: Humanitarian discourse and the representation of death at borders

The talk will focus on questions such as: what narratives accompany tragedies happening at the borders? How do society, the media and documentaries portray the deaths of migrants/people on the move? We will address the lack of data on border deaths and how insufficient documentation affects public awareness and migration policy. We will also present the findings and conclusions of the Ocalenie Foundation's report ‘Passage is gone. Deaths of migrants at the border between the European Union and Belarus’.
