WATCH DOCS x PLAC ZABAW: Open-air cinema by the river
Throughout the summer, every Wednesday in July and on selected Wednesdays in August, together with Plac Zabaw we will be screening excellent documentaries by the riverside in Warsaw.
We begin on 3 July with the film FOREST directed by Lidia Duda. Before the film at 8.30 p.m., we invite you to the meeting "Helping is legal", moderated by Agnieszka Lichnerowicz who will be talking to:
- Marcin Sosniak - expert from the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights
- Marysia Złonkiewicz - Chlebem i Solą activist / Grupa Granica
- Zuzanna Zachara-Hassairi - FOREST cinematographer
• The meeting will be held in Polish.
About the film:
After graduation, Asia and Marek bought an old house right on Poland's eastern border in the Bialowieza Forest, the oldest forest in Europe. It is their little paradise - a place where their children are to grow up safely, away from the problems of the modern world. For Marysia, Ignacy and Franek, the forest is their second home.
But one day their forest changes. Refugees from the Polish-Belarusian border appear there. The whole family helps them - even though Polish law forbids it - because how can you leave another human being without help? Big politics has knocked on the door of their house and nothing will ever be the same.
