WATCH DOCS Nominations at Krakow Film Festival

The Berlinale-winning documentary, a monumental film from the Venice Film Festival, and a project that began its journey within our FUTURE DOCS industry program—these are the titles we nominated at this year’s Krakow Film Festival, and they will screen in Warsaw at the 26th IFF WATCH DOCS this December! This marks another year of programming collaboration between our two festivals.

"If Pigeons Turned to Gold" is one of the freshest and formally intriguing Central and Eastern European documentaries of recent years—an intimate portrait of family relationships and an attempt to break free from an enchanting, intergenerational cycle of history.

"Holofiction" is a bold video essay crafted from fragments of over 3,000 feature films—a monumental work exploring the collectively shaped perceptions and historical memory of the Holocaust.

"The Winning Generation", on the other hand, is a portrait filmed over 12 years, following a young Armenian activist who evolves into a politician, fighting for the sovereignty of his country, which remains constantly exposed to Moscow's ambitions.

The 66th Krakow Film Festival runs until June 7—we highly encourage you to attend the screenings in cinemas and online.

The 26th WATCH DOCS IFF will take place from December 4 to 13, 2026, in Warsaw cinemas and online.
