Hanna Machińska is the laureate of the Henryk Wujec Civic Award

The award was presented during the closing night of the 22nd edition of the WATCH DOCS. Human Rights in Film Festival, on International Human Rights Day, December 10.

The Henryk Wujec Civic Award is awarded by social organizations to those who help others, for their work for human rights. The patron of the award is the oppositionist and social activist, Henryk Wujec, and its organizer is the Henryk Wujec Civic Fund.

The organizations emphasized Dr Hanna Machińska's great dedication to the fight for human and civil rights and sensitivity to the fate of every single injured person. Organizations forming the Jury of the Civic Award appeared and spoke on the stage: the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights - organizer of the WATCH DOCS Festival, National Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations - within which the "Our Ombudsman" initiative operates, Amnesty International Poland and the Henryk Wujec Civic Fund, as well as representatives of the Granica Group, and the Watchdog Polska Civic Network. They all shared stories about the help they received from Hanna Machińska, and her personal involvement in supporting their aid activities.
