Where does our daily bread come from in the 21st century? From underwater salmon farms to endless olive groves – a spectacular and mercilessly precise vivisection of the modern agricultural industry.

Geyrhalter has already accustomed us to his uncanny ability to find beauty in places we usually fear to look. Eschewing voiceover, "Our Daily Bread" exposes the truth behind the manufacturing of food products that end up on our tables. Welcome to a world where food is primarily a commodity: reproducible, bulk, and cheap. Whether it's animal or plant protein production, the process is fully automated, procedure-dependent, devoid of emotion – where even humans resemble machines. Giant food companies look impressive in pristine Geyrhalter frames. But do we really want our daily bread to look like this? And is there another way to feed the world?
