In times of information overload, it's increasingly difficult to distinguish facts from manipulation, and false narratives become tools of influence, control, and destabilization. Disinformation has serious consequences – it leads to deepening conflicts, radicalizing social attitudes, and undermining trust in institutions. We'll discuss the mechanisms of information manipulation and their role in contemporary conflicts with journalist and former war correspondent Marcin Ogdowski.
Marcin Ogdowski is the author of reportages and novels devoted to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as Russia's hybrid war against Poland. A sociologist by training, he has been analyzing the mechanisms of armed conflict and their media representations for years. In February 2024, his book "Killing Ukraine: The Alphabet of Russian Aggression" was published, and is considered one of the most important compendiums of knowledge on the Russian-Ukrainian war.
