FUTURE DOCS 2017/2018 AWARDS PRESENTED DURING THE 19TH WATCH DOCS IFF CLOSING CEREMONY

The FUTURE DOCS Award was presented to Polish filmmaker Magdalena Pięta-Stritzke for the documentary film project "Factory" developed in the frame of the 2nd FUTURE DOCS edition, in cooperation with Belorussian human rights defender, Anna Dziusakeva of the NGO Zvyano. The award for further development of the film project, amounting to 5 000 USD, was granted by the mentors of the second edition of FUTURE DOCS - Barak Heymann, Brigid O'Shea, and Rada Sesic - and funded from donations to the WATCH DOCS festival, which Dr. Ewa Osiatyńska-Woydyłło asked for instead of flowers of those who came to bid farewell to the late Professor Wiktor Osiatyński.
Polish Bar Council (NRA) Award - the NRA Award amounting to 10 000 PLN was presented to Finnish filmmaker Inka Achté for the documentary film project "The Last Carriage", developed in the frame of the second FUTURE DOCS edition in cooperation with Belorussian human rights defender, Gregorij Tserentsiev of the Human Constanta NGO, and Polish human rights lawyers - Daniel Witko and Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram.
